Kelly has over eleven years’ experience as a structural engineer and since joining Heyne Tillett Steel in 2008 she has worked on a number of schemes across all sectors and at all scales. Kelly became an Associate in 2015.

Her experience ranges from work on deep basements under listed buildings to new build office and educational buildings of various scale, this also includes heavy refurbishment of existing reinforced concrete and steel framed, historic buildings, with complex site restrictions. Kelly has worked on a number of interventions within existing fabric at the Science Museum with Universal Design Studio. Here, she designed a walkway for the new Information Age Gallery, which won a Structural Award in 2016.

Kelly is a champion of sketching within the firm encouraging the art of a quick 3D sketch. In addition, off the back of several timber framed projects Kelly runs an in house research group, in collaboration with City University, into engineered timber innovations. She has designed of a glulam framed timber pavilion to be erected in Shoreditch for the 2017 London Design Festival
Kelly also sits on the editorial advisory board for the New Steel Construction Magazine, the British Constructional Steel Association’s monthly publication.
