Subject: The Evolution of CLT
In a career spanning over 35 years in the construction industry, Andy Goodwin joined B&K Structures in 2003 as Commercial Manager and worked his way through the ranks to take up the role of Managing Director in 2016.
Adopting a hands-on approach, Andy has supported the business through the transition from a structural steelwork fabricator into the sustainable frame contractor they are today.
Over the last 13 years, B&K Structures have grown to become the largest timber engineering business in the UK. By demand cross laminated timber (CLT) is the most popular product within the company’s extensive materials portfolio, however they are not CLT purists, the business focuses on hybrid construction solutions, utilising glulam, steel and structural timber wall and roof cassettes.
Andy supports project teams at every stage of the construction journey from tender to completion – ensuring B&K Structures deliver a quality project and excellent service to clients and main contractors.
B&K Structures have been instrumental in the development and growth of the timber market within the UK. To meet the ever-increasing demands of a growing market, the specialist frame contractor continues to push the boundaries in terms of innovation and the development of new modern methods for offsite construction - underpinning their position as the UK’s No1 timber engineering business.
